Meet a few of our artisans
Siomara
Former artisan | Head of operations in Honduras
Siomara joined Amada in 2019 as an artisan in our first cohort, and we haven’t been able to part with her since. We’ve watched her grow from a single mother of one to a working mother of two, and there is no one else we would rather have teaching our artisans.
Betty
Former artisan | Former instructor
Before becoming an artisan with Amada, Betty was unemployed and full of shame. Betty thought God had cursed her when she gave birth to a daughter who is deaf. While working as an artisan, Betty realized how much God loves her and her daughter, and established her identity in Christ. After excelling as an artisan, Betty served as a supervisor for the cohort after her, where she mentored the women and taught them the skills they needed to thrive as artisans.

Jenni
Former artisan
For as long as she can remember, Jenni helped her mom make bricks. Sometimes, she worked in the coffee fields, but she never attended school. Her mother couldn't spare her - Jenni's labor helped provide food for her six other siblings. When she was 15, Jenni became an artisan. It was the first time she had a stable income and job security.
